Commercial Framing, Windows and Doors
Located in the Steel River industrial precinct, these units provide a wider use case by offering services not generally associated with industrial units.
To make these spaces usable and inviting for businesses and individuals meant windows! And lots of them.
All units overlooking the river boasted floor to ceiling glazing measuring a massive 3m wide and 5.8m high.
Across the development, Hunter Windows designed, manufactured and installed our largest industrial windows project to date, with 131 louvre windows, as well as 27 hinged, and 22 bi-fold glass doors.
The end result was quite stunning, and once again we are proud to have teamed up with other Hunter businesses (Hunter Precast, Hunter Structural Steel) and GWH on this project.

When EJE Architecture put forward an inspired façade for the GWH Darby Plaza project, Hunter Windows was tasked with making it a reality.
When EJE Architecture put forward an inspired façade design for the GWH Darby Plaza project, Hunter Windows was tasked with bringing it to life.
The challenge involved merging traditional strip windows with a glass curtain wall system—two typically incompatible systems—while following the building’s curved exterior form.
To achieve the desired seamless aesthetic, Hunter Windows developed a custom cast-in bracket system supporting glazed spandrels that appeared as continuous glass from the outside while functioning as balustrades inside. The result met all thermal, acoustic, and fire-rating requirements while maintaining the clean, contemporary look of a curtain wall.
The combination of the precast panelling, large glazed areas, and unique aluminium decorative panels gives Darby Plaza its standout architectural character—a striking addition to Newcastle’s evolving skyline.
